New build installations to achieve a BREEAM very good score
Like many areas of the UK, the London Borough of Waltham Forest has been undergoing a major regeneration project, transforming the Borough and its towns into vibrant, trendy places for people to live and work. One of the standout residential projects undertaken in Walthamstow is at South Grove, E17 which comprises 473 homes made up of owner-occupied, shared ownership and social housing apartments.
Across the site, there are five shared ownership blocks, one owner-occupied block, one London Living Rent block and one Affordable Rental block. The blocks range from six to twelve storeys, each having two lifts.
Jackson were approached by the developer to tender for 18 MRL lifts that would assist the development, to attain a very good BREEAM score.
Following on from a detailed tender submission, Jackson were awarded the contract to install the 18 lifts.
Building construction started during the early part of 2017, with the first lifts being installed in 2018 and the first homes being completed and ready for occupation in 2019. The final handover of the last lifts took place in 2021.
