Friendly, local service… nationwide
Located in Cambridge, Addenbrooke’s Hospital, managed by Cambridge University Hospitals Trust, is one of the NHS’s larger teaching hospitals. The Hospital is located on the Cambridge Biomedical Campus, which is the largest centre of medical research and health science in Europe.
Jackson are proud to have maintained a close and long-standing relationship with Addenbrooke’s Hospital and delighted to have been asked to competitively tender on each occasion the maintenance contract was due for renewal.
Our contract work includes monthly maintenance visits, repairs and a call-out service for the Hospital’s multiple lifts that are installed over the various Addenbrooke’s buildings. Having worked with NHS Trusts across the UK, we understand the need for reliability and the care needed to ensure the work we undertake causes minimum disturbance and disruption for patients, staff and visitors.
Day-to-day administration of the maintenance contract for the Hospital’s 64 lifts is undertaken at the Jackson Head Office and Regional Centre in Charlton, London. The team of engineers, who look after the essential equipment that we maintain, all live within easy travel distance to the Hospital which helps to ensure a fast response to calls for assistance if they should occur. Apart from the close working relationship we have with the Hospital’s maintenance team, Jackson also works closely with Trust’s Lift Consultants and Authorising Engineer (Lifts) to ensure all work is compliant with HTM 08-02.
Jackson also undertakes tendered modernisation work for the Hospital and recently won a contract to remove two of the Hospital’s ageing bed lifts and install new fully compliant EN81:21 and HTM 08-02 through car lifts. To reduce disturbance to the patients, some of the work is being undertaken outside of normal hours. These two essential bed lifts serve the Hospital’s main theatre and as a result, the replacement programme requires that one of the lifts must be always kept in service during the works.
